I own two small businesses with my wife and have faced these issues countless times. It's usually in the form of a merchant service account company being "unable" to clear up an "irregularity" (which is always on their end) and, thus, our fund from our credit card terminal are put into a "holding account". Luckily, I have no problem getting on the horn and putting my foot down, but it's ridiculous that there's even a need. Great article.
